A visit to the Imperial War Museum North was a great opportunity for young and older services users to talk about the
experience of war.
Many of our young people were interested in the everyday impact on people's lives, such as food rationing, clothing coupons
- and what happens if your school was bombed!
The visit gave young people insight into how children around the world [and throughout history] are affected by war and
for our older service users, it gave them an opportunity to share their experiences with a rapt audience of young people.
Everyone enjoyed looking at some of the items stored at the museum, such as child size Gas Masks and some of the toys
that were popular in the early part of the 20th Century.
However the main benefit of the day was that everyone was able to challenge their preconceptions of other age groups
and enjoy each others company.
