LCA produces an annual report including an accounts summary, which is distributed throughout
the neighbourhood. It is recognised that there are opportunities, in the future, to produce the report in conjunction with
the local community. This important document is one that sells the project to the wider community and potential funders. The
involvement of local people will introduce them to new skills and encourage their involvement as volunteers within LCA.
The organisation continually reviews its policies through a rolling programme. This gives
the opportunity to keep up to date with current practice and legislation. The next policy to be reviewed will be the Equal Opportunities policy.
Through the work of Management Committee, staff, volunteers, and service users will be
empowered to own the project - particularly by being involved in the management and development of the building and its resources.
There is a need to review the building and its use in order to better utilise the limited space available.
The priority is to continue delivering high quality services in the current sphere of interest,
with further expansion only secondary to that once funding is secured and capacity maximised.
Development objectives are the following: -
-
To access secure funding to allow the continuation of current
work.
-
To promote work locally, increasing the involvement, as users and volunteers, of local
people.
-
To offer relevant training and support to staff, volunteers and users, thus helping them
to reach their potential.
In the longer
term, the aim is to identify groups who do not use the centre very much and increase their level of involvement. This will
require the renovation and/or expansion of current premises or extended use of partnership premises and will help maximise
social inclusion and the scope for personal and community development in Ladybarn.
